Every Hint BTS Has Dropped About Their ‘Normal’ Music Video So Far

BTS are building anticipation for the release of their “Normal” music video one clue at a time.

The rollout began last week when the septet changed its Instagram profile picture to “ LAMRON” and posted a static image of dark green film strips highlighting the BTS members in random snapshots. The visual displayed the word “LAMRON” with the caption “LAMRON: The Reel,” while each member updated their bios to read “LAMRON.” It didn’t take long to figure out that, spelt backwards, LAMRON reads NORMAL, a clear indication that the B-side track from BTS’s fifth studio album Arirang had a music video drop on the way.

“Normal” has been part of the Arirang conversation since the record dropped on March 20, 2026, with the band performing it on the Arirang World Tour. However, instead of a typical concept photo or video teaser, the group’s agency, Big Hit Music, opted for a different [analog] approach to promote the video release.

The breadcrumbs kept coming. On Jul.14, print ads appeared in U.S. daily newspapers like the New York Post, featuring a front-page headline in all caps: “BTS MEMBERS SEEN IN BATHROOM AMID MYSTERIOUS LATE-NIGHT GATHERING” – accompanied by a red starburst proclaiming “SHOCKING PHOTO REVEALED.” The photo featured group members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook in suits, standing with their backs turned against urinals.

The text inside further blew up the story, “We’re not in a position to comment any further at this time,” before the ad slipped in the key line: “Some may wonder if this gathering was completely normal (NORMAL).” Then the closer said, “More information will be revealed on July 17,” hinting at the video’s release date.

The campaign doubles as a cheeky piece of guerrilla marketing, borrowing the language of tabloid newspapers as a play on the media’s long-running fascination with BTS.

That duality is exactly what “Normal” is about: an all-English track that digs into life under a microscope. In the chorus of its explicit version, Jungkook, Jimin, Jin, and V sing, “ Kerosene, dopamine, chemical-induced / Fantasy and fame, yeah, the things we choose / Show me hate, show me love, make me bulletproof / Yeah, we call this shit normal.” Jimin’s opening verse questions, “ Will you color me red? Will you color me blue? / Two sides of a coin, and they both ain’t true…” — a nod to the tension between public image and private life, and a sign of a more mature chapter for BTS. And the promotion leans into that same idea: a fake scandal in a fake tabloid to announce a real song about how chaos and scrutiny have become “normal.” The “LAMRON” flip works in a similar vein: take something familiar, turn it around, and see what it really says.

“Normal” is the fifth music video from Arirang, following “ Swim,” “ 2.0,” “Hooligan,” and “ Merry Go Round,” and is expected to drop on Jul.17 as teased in the ad.
